Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montrose). They put the hurt on the Wheat Ridge Farmers with a sharp 64-40 win on Friday.

Montrose had a senior duo take command as Kaleb Ferguson went 11 of 16 en route to 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Brekin Hutto went 9 of 10 en route to 18 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ferguson has scored at least a third of Montrose's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Pressler, who posted six points and six boards.

Montrose was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Montrose's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Wheat Ridge, they moved to 3-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Montrose didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-49 win against Forge Christian on the 14th. As for Wheat Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-46 victory against Glenwood Springs on the 14th.
