If Middle Park was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Platte Canyon on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Fort Lupton Bluedevils on Tuesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Middle Park actually scored more points across those four sets (93-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

Peyton Fosha paced Middle Park's offense, picking up 21 kills. Fosha got some help from Laura Bell and her 22 assists. Fosha was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Middle Park's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Fort Lupton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

After both having extra time off, Middle Park and Moffat County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on October 1. As for Fort Lupton, they will square off against Fort Morgan at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.
