Football Recap: Unatego/Franklin Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Unatego/Franklin can now relate to. They were dealt a 56-22 loss at the hands of the Eldred Yellowjackets on Saturday. The game marked Unatego/Franklin's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Koen McGill had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 130 yards and two scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 257 yards and three touchdowns for Eldred. McGill also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Eldred's leading receiver Connor Ranaudo was McGill's top target yet again, picking up 82 receiving yards, while also rushing for 112 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries.

Unatego/Franklin moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Eldred, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Unatego/Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eldred, they will take on Morrisville-Eaton at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Mavericks have now posted at least 31 points in their last ten matchups.
