Basketball Game Preview: Ashford Yellowjackets vs. Geneva Panthers

Ashford is 1-6 against Geneva since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ashford Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Geneva Panthers at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Geneva is hoping to do what Daleville couldn't on Friday: put an end to Ashford's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Ashford blew past Daleville 49-12. That looming 49-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellowjackets yet this season.

Meanwhile, Geneva was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Dale County 58-7. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 27 points or more this season.

Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Ashford, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Ashford took a serious blow against Geneva when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 54-17. Thankfully for Ashford, Madison Johnson (who went 8 for 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
