The Marshall Lions will face off against the Tolono Unity Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marshall comes in on four and Tolono Unity on 12.
Marshall is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They didn't even let Teutopolis on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 1-0 shutout.

Not much got past Haley McGuire, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Teutopolis off the board. McGuire has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Marshall saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lynn Welborn, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, Tolono Unity got the win against Tri-Valley on Friday by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 20 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lindy Bates made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight games. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Bickers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Kenley Harris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Tolono Unity hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Valley struck out eight times.
Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Tolono Unity, their win bumped their record up to 31-4.
Marshall couldn't quite get it done against Tolono Unity when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 3-0. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
