Baseball Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short

If Hanover was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Patrick Henry on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell just short of the Highland Springs Springers by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Springers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Hanover has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Highland Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Hanover is taking a road trip to face off against Freeman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highland Springs, they will challenge Henrico at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
