Volleyball Recap: Wade Vang Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Blaine

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Irondale had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Blaine Bengals 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 9th.

Irondale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-13.

Irondale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wade Vang led the charge by getting 33 assists. Vang is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Enzo Yang was another key player, getting nine digs and two assists.

Irondale's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Blaine, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Irondale nor the Bengals have any future games scheduled.
