Volleyball Game Preview: Rifle Bears vs. Glenwood Springs Demons

Rifle is 0-10 against Glenwood Springs since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Demons at 11:00 a.m.

On Thursday, Rifle came up short against Eagle Valley and fell 3-1. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Devils 25-18 in the first set.

Rifle started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-8, 25-15, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Glenwood Springs waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Huskies.

Glenwood Springs took Battle Mountain into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Rifle's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Glenwood Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Rifle might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Glenwood Springs in their previous meeting on October 9th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Demons' Gianna Zambrano, who had 14 digs and six aces. Now that the Bears know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
