Baseball Game Preview: Del Rio Rams vs. United South Panthers

For the second straight game, Del Rio will face off against United South. The Rams will head out to challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Del Rio has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 14 straight losses, while United South will come in with four straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Del Rio's offense. They fell just short of United South by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

For United South's part, not much got past Juan P Briseno, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Del Rio off the board.

On the hitting side, United South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gerardo Alvarez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Alvarez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

United South's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Del Rio, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
