Baseball Recap: Northwood Finds Home Field Redemption Against La Porte

There's no place like home for NorthWood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the La Porte Slicers on Saturday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Slicers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2016.

NorthWood's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bogan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

NorthWood's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for La Porte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, NorthWood will welcome Bremen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for La Porte, they will challenge Merrillville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
