Softball Recap: Wallington Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Wallington came out on top against Wood-Ridge on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Panthers never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Wallington's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wood-Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wallington will face off against rival Hasbrouck Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.4, the Aviators 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Wood-Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
