Basketball Recap: River View Extends Winning Streak to Four

River View had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 60-47 victory over the Morgan Raiders. This was payback for the Black Bears, who suffered a 57-52 defeat the last time these two teams met.

River View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Wesney led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wesney a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Layton Massie, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

River View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Morgan lost, don't look at Luke Coleman. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and eight boards. Carson Huck was another key player, putting up 11 points.

River View's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Morgan, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Morgan beat River View by a score of 73-67 on Friday.
