Volleyball Recap: Orion Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Orion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rock Island Rocks 2-1. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Rocks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Orion had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 28-26.

Ellie Knupp had an outrageously good game as she had 12 kills, ten digs, and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Claire Haars was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Orion was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.

Orion's record now sits at 18-15. As for Rock Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.

As of now, neither Orion nor the Rocks have any future games scheduled.
