The La Salle Academy Rams will head out to challenge the East Providence Townies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Salle Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
La Salle Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Moses Brown, who was ranked 15th at the time (La Salle Academy was ranked third). The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand the Quakers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.

Jairo Martinez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Thomas Malloy, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Axel Dasilva also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
La Salle Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Providence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cranston West 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Townies have posted since April 4th.
Dylan Annicelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Aidan Martins was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Palombo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
East Providence pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for La Salle Academy, their record is now 9-3.
La Salle Academy beat East Providence 5-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Townies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
