Basketball Recap: Micah Duke and Isabel Hackney Secure Win for South Central

There's no place like home for South Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 38-33 W over the Ingalls Bulldogs on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Timberwolves: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in January, they had to take a 42-41 loss.

Leading South Central to victory were Isabel Hackney and Micah Duke. Hackney posted eight points in addition to 15 boards and five steals, while Duke went 7-for-8 on her way to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hackney is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Remi Martin was another key player, putting up five points and 12 boards.

South Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ingalls only seven offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Ingalls still got an impressive performance from Leah Stinemetz, who put up 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Stinemetz a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (44%). Another player making a difference was Olivia Stein, who scored five points and ten rebounds.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ingalls, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

South Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-26 defeat against Hodgeman County on the 21st. As for Ingalls, they have also already played their next game, a 47-31 victory against Meade on the 21st.
