Softball Recap: Midway Comes Up Short

If Midway was feeling good fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Miami last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Liberal Bulldogs on Friday, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Bristol Burkart made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Midway has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Liberal, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midway will face off against Golden City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberal, they will take on Greenfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
