Soccer Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

Burlington came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-0 to the Watertown Raiders. While losing is never fun, Burlington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Watertown are ranked 60th).

Burlington has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15-1 record this season. As for Watertown, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burlington is set to square off against their familiar foe Stoneham at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Watertown will face off against rival Melrose at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
