Baseball Game Preview: Midlothian Trojans vs. Powhatan Indians

The Midlothian Trojans will square off against the Powhatan Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Midlothian comes in on four and Powhatan on five.

Midlothian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt L.C. Bird on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 17-7 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their two-run performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Powhatan narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Louisa County 10-8.

Powhatan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Midlothian, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Midlothian came up short against Powhatan in their previous meeting back in March, falling 9-6. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
