Preview: Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons vs. Chatfield Gophers
Wabasha-Kellogg has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Chatfield Gophers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wabasha-Kellogg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Wabasha-Kellogg had to settle for a 45-42 defeat against Schaeffer Academy. Wabasha-Kellogg has not had much luck with Schaeffer Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ileana DeAngel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. She scored a full 33.3% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brielle Adams, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chatfield took their game on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 69-42 victory over Osage.
Their wins bumped Wabasha-Kellogg to 1-3 and Schaeffer Academy to 2-1.
Wabasha-Kellogg took a serious blow against Chatfield when the teams last played back in February, falling 70-34. Can Wabasha-Kellogg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
