Basketball Recap: West Orange-Stark Takes a Loss

West Orange-Stark lost against Hardin-Jefferson back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs received a blow as they fell 81-67 to the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hardin-Jefferson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Jones, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 boards. With that strong performance, Jones is now averaging an impressive 8.8 boards per game. Taveyian Thomas was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 27 points.

West Orange-Stark's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hardin-Jefferson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

West Orange-Stark wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-41 win against Livingston on the 12th. Hardin-Jefferson has also already played their next contest, a 91-69 loss against La Porte on the 12th.
