Basketball Game Preview: Denver East Angels vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison

The Denver East Angels will venture away from home to challenge the Vista PEAK Prep Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Denver East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Last Friday, Denver East didn't have quite enough to beat George Washington and fell 65-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (55), the Angels still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from MAURICE FULTCHER, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two). JAMES MURRAY was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Denver South on Friday, taking the game 73-63. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bison's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Ravens are ranked 16th).

Vista PEAK Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Denver East, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Denver East didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Vista PEAK Prep when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denver East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
