Norfolk Collegiate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Walsingham Academy, who was ranked 25th at the time (Norfolk Collegiate was ranked ninth). The Mighty Oaks were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Trojans on Thursday. Norfolk Collegiate might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy fell victim to Cape Henry Collegiate and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Dolphins, falling 9-0. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Norfolk Collegiate took their win against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mighty Oaks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
