Softball Recap: Poway Titans vs. Great Oak Wolfpack

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against King, Poway was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Great Oak Wolfpack 5-4.

Aubrey Stiritz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Paityn Vidano was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Karissa Knapp, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Poway back to even at 8-8. As for Great Oak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Poway and Great Oak will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Titans see the field they'll take on San Marcos at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Great Oak, their break will end when they face Chaparral at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th.
