Volleyball Recap: Unity Takes a Loss

Unity had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Lakeland Thunderbirds by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Andrea Erickson paced Unity's offense, picking up 16 kills. Erickson got some help from Ella Johnson and her 27 assists. Madelyn Schleusner controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The win got Lakeland back to even at 1-1.

Unity didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against River Falls on the 29th. As for Lakeland, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against New Auburn on the 29th.
