Recap: Winona Tigers vs. Grenada Chargers
The Winona Tigers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-56 to Grenada. Winona has not had much luck with Grenada recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Grenada was led to victory by Caleb Howard and Kelton Jones. Howard scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, while Jones scored 27 points. The contest was Howard's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jekerious Williams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five assists.
Winona bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Grenada, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winona will be home for the holidays to greet Nanih Waiya at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grenada will be home for the holidays to greet Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
