Basketball Recap: Belfry Takes a Loss

Belfry suffered their biggest loss since March 2, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 65-37 defeat at the hands of the Tug Valley Panthers. The Pirates have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Belfry's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Hagy, who posted eight points and six boards. Hagy is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Brody Little was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Belfry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Tug Valley, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Belfry will welcome Betsy Layne at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tug Valley, they will square off against Summit Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
