Recap: Palmetto Panthers vs. Killian Cougars
The Palmetto Panthers posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Killian 98-17 on the road. Given Palmetto's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Killian is ranked 732nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Samfree Sarante continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 8-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Santiago Henriquez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Palmetto and bumps their season record up to 10-8. As for Killian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Palmetto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Coral Gables at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. Coral Gables is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Killian, they will take on Southridge at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
