Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Comes Up Short

Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between them and the Olympian Eagles didn't end well, with the Monte Vista Monarchs falling 82-67. If the Monarchs were looking for revenge after losing 50-36 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Olympian was led to victory by Sammell Humphries and Tristan Anderson. Humphries dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 boards, while Anderson almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played. Jordan Walker was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 15 points and seven assists.

Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Olympian, their record is now 22-6.

As of now, neither Monte Vista nor Olympian have any future games scheduled.
