Softball Recap: Wheeling Has No Trouble Against Elk Grove

Wheeling hadn't done well against Elk Grove recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Grenadiers with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Wildcats not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26th (when they won 16-1).

Ava Shrake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Katie Moser was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Fitzgerald, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Wheeling's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Elk Grove, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
