Football Game Preview: Carver Crusaders vs. Sharon Eagles

The Carver Crusaders will face off against the Sharon Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sharon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Carver, who comes in off a win.

Carver is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 48-18 victory over Upper Cape Cod RVT. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Carver had a senior duo take command as Colin Eakins gained 208 total yards and three touchdowns and Nathan Helms threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. Eakins also posted 162 receiving yards, which is notable because the Crusaders are 2-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nolan Kenneally, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Sharon's offense. They were beaten by Nauset Regional 36-0 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Carver's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Sharon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
