Basketball Game Preview: Lake Arthur Panthers vs. Melrose Buffaloes

The Lake Arthur Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Melrose Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lake Arthur came up short against Gateway Christian on Tuesday, falling 45-22. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Melrose had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 52-32. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Melrose's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Lake Arthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Lake Arthur took a serious blow against Melrose in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-13. Can Lake Arthur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
