Softball Recap: Mukwonago Has No Trouble Against Waukesha South

Mukwonago's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Waukesha South Blackshirts a 21-0 shutout. The matchup marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Sienna Sturino made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Mukwonago got a massive performance out of Jordan Chatham, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Chatham snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Amelia Motl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Mukwonago always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .681. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waukesha South only posted an OBP of .300.

Mukwonago's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Waukesha South, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Mukwonago will be playing in front of their home fans against Arrowhead at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waukesha South, they will venture away from home to face off against Waukesha West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blackshirts surely won't give up without a fight.
