Volleyball Recap: MacDonald Comes Up Short

MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Santa Clara Bruins. The Condor were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

MacDonald was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Santa Clara work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 27-25.

Ethan Bugarin paced MacDonald's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bugarin got some help from Dylan Bugarin and his 27 assists. Tobin Ley controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

MacDonald's record now sits at 0-2. As for Santa Clara, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, MacDonald will challenge Milpitas at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Clara, they are taking a road trip to square off against King's Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
