Basketball Recap: Frontier STEM Comes Up Short

Frontier STEM was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 41-34 to the St. Vincent de Paul Academy Hawks.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leo Hodal, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Hodal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Franklin Greene was another key player, putting up six points and nine boards.

Frontier STEM's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for St. Vincent de Paul Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frontier STEM will head out to take on Guadalupe Centers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frontier STEM is facing Guadalupe Centers at the right time seeing as Guadalupe Centers is stuck on a five-game losing streak. St. Vincent de Paul Academy has already played their next matchup (against Midland Adventist Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
