Soccer Game Preview: Waterloo West vs. Mason City

The Waterloo West Wahawks will venture away from home to square off against the Mason City Mohawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Waterloo West's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Waterloo West's offense. They lost 10-0 to Janesville on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Waterloo West have lost by exactly ten goals.

Meanwhile, Mason City kept a clean sheet against Humboldt on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Wildcats 1-0. Mason City haven't had any issues with Humboldt recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Waterloo West's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Mason City, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Waterloo West might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Mason City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
