Volleyball Recap: Amphitheater Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Amphitheater can bid farewell to their 22-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves 3-2. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Amphitheater wouldn't go down easily and took St. Augustine Catholic into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-18, 19-25, 21-25, 15-11.

Amphitheater's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Amphitheater will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tucson High Magnet School at 5:30 p.m. on March 26th. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they will challenge The Gregory School at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
