Softball Recap: Carbondale Area Comes Up Short

Elk Lake hit Carbondale Area with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-0. The Chargers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Carbondale Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephanie Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Elk Lake, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Carbondale Area will host Forest City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elk Lake, they will take on Greater Nanticoke Area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
