Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Midlakes Screaming Eagles. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Midlakes, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Wayne and Midlakes could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Wayne (ranked 631st) will meet Newark (ranked 115th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Midlakes will face off against Palmyra-Macedon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 309 places (467 vs. 158).
