Deer Creek-Mackinaw will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Deer Creek-Mackinaw walked away with a 50-43 victory over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 81-73 win over Eureka on Thursday. Given the Turks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Hornets are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tremont pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
