Calhoun City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Bruce had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Water Valley 71-24 at home on Tuesday. With that victory, Bruce brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Bruce got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jay Cole Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Pierce, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Calhoun City pushed their record up to 18-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Bruce, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16.
Everything came up roses for Calhoun City against Bruce in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 60-29 win. With Calhoun City ahead 39-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
