It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Crystal City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Vashon/Miller Career Academy Wolverine 5-4. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ricardo Pastrana was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hayden Westbrook, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Crystal City and bumps their season record up to 2-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Vashon/Miller Career Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Crystal City has already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Miller Career Academy on the 16th. As for Vashon/Miller Career Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Gateway Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
