Basketball Recap: Creede Gets the Win

If Soroco wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Creede, they should've done a better job of containing Jaxson Fazio. The Creede Miners came out on top against the Soroco Rams by a score of 51-44 on Saturday thanks in part to Fazio, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Fairchild, who posted six points and three blocks. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Creede's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Soroco, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creede will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sargent at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Soroco also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Rangely at 4:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
