Delavan-Darien entered their tilt with Elkhorn on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Elks. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Delavan-Darien had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18, 15-12.

Morgan Weiss paced Delavan-Darien's offense, picking up 20 kills. Weiss got some help from Janelle Damrow and her 23 assists. Elizabeth Zweifel controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Delavan-Darien's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Elkhorn, they moved to 16-10 with that defeat, which also ended their six-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Delavan-Darien will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhorn, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wilmot at 6:30 p.m.
