It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Johnsburg had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Byron Tigers with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Riley Johnson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Johnsburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Byron, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 28 games and leaves them with a 31-5 record.
