East Carteret strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Ocracoke Dolphins with a sharp 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Bryan Hadder made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Eli Jenkins was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Roberson, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

East Carteret's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-0. As for Ocracoke, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

East Carteret will take on Havelock in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Ocracoke, they will face off against West Carteret at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
