Baseball Recap: Celina Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Celina waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds with a sharp 14-4 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Nick Steinbrunner was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chance Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Celina kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Celina's record is now 9-10. As for Lima Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celina will welcome Minster at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lima Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Elida at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Thunderbirds surely won't give up without a fight.
