Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Guilford

Guilford had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hononegah Indians. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Indians back in April, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Guilford never let Hononegah on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 26-24.

Defeat or not, Hononegah got some senior leadership from Owen Rollinson and Noah Duer. Rollinson had eight digs and one block, while Duer had 15 digs. Rollinson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 16 games he's played.

Guilford pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hononegah, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Guilford will take on rival Harlem at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hononegah is set to challenge their familiar foe Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
