Baseball Recap: Mullins Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marion

Mullins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Marion Swamp Foxes, falling 16-4. One positive for the Auctioneers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Damoreon Gerald made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Mullins' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mullins will take on Lake City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Mullins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Latta at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
