Baseball Recap: Charter Oak Triumphs

Charter Oak won the last time they faced La Serna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chargers walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Lancers.

Brian Aceves looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Jefte Cruz was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Frankie Robles, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Charter Oak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Serna only posted an OBP of .345.

Charter Oak's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for La Serna, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Charter Oak will face off against Montebello at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Serna, they will take on St. John Bosco at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
