Basketball Recap: Eminence Takes a Loss

Eminence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 68-41 defeat at the hands of Irvington Preparatory Academy. The Eels were probably out for revenge after losing 93-58 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Xavier Page was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 boards for Irvington Preparatory Academy. With that strong performance, Page is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kase Johnson, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Eminence's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eminence will square off against Christel House at Manual at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they will take on Central Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Irvington Preparatory Academy is facing Central Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Central Christian Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
